All recipes are chosen (or modified) on the basis of their ability to fit the needs of a young couple without much experience, money or kitchen space.
I've lived in a lot of different places around the U.S., with family that come from various backgrounds, and I believe that these experiences, although not necessarily food related, have fostered an appreciation for the home and all the good things that can be created there.
Although I still feel a bit schizophrenic in the kitchen, working as a baker for a year in a busy, well-respected bakery in Vermont only cemented the notion in my mind that cooking and baking will stay with me throughout my life.
